We
believe that modern music is influenced by many cultures
and traditions, and that it can be used to bring people
together to spread an anti-racist message.
Our music is living testimony to the fact that cultures
can and do mix. It unites us and gives us strength, and
offers a vibrant celebration of our multicultural and
multiracial society. Racism seeks only to divide and
weaken us. Love Music, Hate Racism (LMHR) was set up in
2009 By Manoranjan Counter(http://www.manoranjancounter.com)
We use the energy of our music scene to celebrate
diversity and involve people in anti-racist activity.
We want to create a national and international movement
against racism through music, so let everyone get
involved however they can and work together for the
betterment of this beautiful world.
Recently, Sydney - Melbourne's Indian community was out
in force to protest violent assaults that have left one
student with severe burns and another fighting for his
life in hospital. More than 1,000 marched through the
centre of Australia's second-biggest city.

MUSIC WITH A MISSION - Project WHY was conceived to
answer a series of queries:
· Why do children from underprivileged backgrounds
perform poorly?
· What could be done to enhance their performance?
· What skills should be taught to them to better their
employment options?
· How could this be achieved in a replicable community
driven model?
Project WHY set out to create a model whereby quality
education support in underprivileged areas, could be
spearheaded by parents even if they were illiterate. The
idea was to empower the community to pool its resources
and run a sound support programme for its children.
Project WHY started with 40 children and spoken English
classes.
Today it reaches out to over 700 children and runs two
early education programmes, one prep class, four primary
and two secondary after school support progarmmes, a day
care and life skills programme for 20 children with
disabilities as well as a computer centre.
